By removing the unwanted clutter from the tabletop and getting rid of the extra people, a nice portrait can be made of the elderly gentleman.

The bottom portion of the man was blended into a black background creating a "Feathered" affect, while a gradient blended background was created to set off the upper torso and head.

As an end result, we are left with a very pleasing portrait.
